EHSVEC program of Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) Philippines, implemented in partnership with public schools.
Through EHSVEC, trained volunteer teachers conduct weekly Values Education classes using Bible-based lessons, aligned with DepEd's goal of character development.
EHSVEC is a CEF program that is unique to the Philippines because it is in partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd), as mandated by the Philippine Constitution and relevant statutes.
It is there to serve as a Values Education partner through the Adopt-A-School Program and other DepEd-approved mechanisms.
By doing so, EHSVEC supports public schools in fulfilling the constitutional directive to teach values and the importance of faith in the formation of character, while remaining non-sectarian and volunteer-driven.
Elementary (Grades 1–6) and High School students in public schools across the Philippines.
The program uses the Mamuhay Nang Tama (MNT) curriculum series, a carefully developed set of lessons that teach moral and spiritual values rooted in biblical principles. This curriculum is intentionally aligned with the Department of Education’s MATATAG curriculum framework, ensuring that it complements the goals of the national K–10 GMRC/ESP subject while adding depth and transformative insight through faith-based teaching.
Developed by Elmer Domingo Rañola, the MNT curriculum draws from universally-accepted Filipino core values—such as respect for elders, honesty, hard work, discipline, and love for country—and anchors these on relevant Bible truths.
This unique integration not only reinforces their importance in daily life but also helps children understand the “why” behind the values they are taught in school and at home.
Each volume of MNT is thematically structured to guide children through real-life moral situations, using storytelling, reflection, and application.
It provides both teachers and learners with a meaningful way to engage with issues such as obedience, forgiveness, stewardship, and compassion—highlighting Jesus Christ as the ultimate example of godly character.
The result is a curriculum that nurtures both the head and the heart, aiming to shape the next generation of Filipinos into individuals who live rightly before God and responsibly within society.
EHSVEC is implemented in line with DepEd Order No. 49, s. 2009, which allows NGOs and faith-based organizations to conduct Values Education classes during official time slots upon agreement with school leadership.
One class per week, typically 30 to 40 minutes long, held during the school’s designated Values Education period.
Trained CEF volunteers—called EHSVEC Teachers—conduct the sessions and coordinate with school personnel.
The EHSVEC program is CEF’s main platform for public school evangelism and discipleship, reaching tens of thousands of students every week with messages of hope, truth, and transformation.
Our curriculum begins with God and His love. He created us for a deep relationship with Him—a union illustrated through biblical metaphors like marriage (Ephesians 5:31-32) and the Body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:27). However, sin separates us from God. Through Christ’s redemptive work on the cross (1 Corinthians 15:3-4), reconciliation is possible.
When we believe in Him, we are saved and transformed, growing to become like Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17, Philippians 2:5).Jesus is the center of our teaching.
As we deepen our relationship with Him, we naturally reflect the DepEd Core Values: Maka-Diyos, Makatao, Makakalikasan, and Makabansa.
These are not just values to teach but fruits of a Christ-centered life.
EHSVEC aligns with the MATATAG GMRC/ESP Curriculum by organizing the Most Essential Learning Competencies (MELCs) under these core values.
Lessons are structured quarterly, with 4–6 MELCs per period, and are designed to supplement public school Values Education while making Christ the ultimate model for life and character.
